Technology Portfolio Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Technology Portfolio Manager, accountable for understanding, anticipating and influencing customer demand for IT services, and ensuring an appropriate supply of resourcing. 

Please note: This is a 12-month Fixed Term contract.

About the opportunity:

The Technology Portfolio Manager oversees IT portfolio governance, ensuring effective engagement, leadership, and reporting across projects to support a centre of excellence and drive successful strategic outcomes.

Key accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with IT and CSPD Support teams to define proposed projects, build business cases, and ensure alignment with business and technology strategies.
  • Liaise with CSPD Support teams to capture, translate, and enrich business requirements for new or existing IT services.
  • Oversee the prioritisation process, conduct value and risk assessments of project requests, and coordinate with stakeholders and the enterprise architect to determine priority.
  • Lead regular meetings with CSPD Support teams and technology stakeholders to review proposed initiatives and align on project priorities.
  • Support the development of project briefs for approved requests, benefit realisation plans, and monitor the benefits of each initiative in collaboration with IT project sponsors and service owners.
  • Review and analyse IT portfolio performance metrics regularly, providing insights and recommendations to leadership to inform budgeting and technology investments.
  • Manage the IT Portfolio, providing oversight in project tracking and delivery, and contribute to IT executive reporting, tracking project performance, and optimising the projects within the IT Portfolio
  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for IT services, identify resource constraints, propose solutions, and optimise resource utilisation for efficiency.
  • Establish KPIs for demand management effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, and implement best practices to enhance demand planning and resource allocation.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing innovative solutions to enhance the organisation's IT portfolio and project delivery

Typical experience and qualifications:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in the relevant area of study
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Negotiation, conflict management and interpersonal skills
