Penola Catholic College is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Sports Coordinator to join our vibrant and supportive school community. This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator with a passion for leadership and Catholic education. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating our school programs, supporting staff, and fostering a culture of excellence in both sporting and academic achievement.

The successful candidate will be provided with a 2-point coordinator allowance and will also have the opportunity to teach in any subject area, with a tailored teaching load to complement their coordination responsibilities. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that all students experience high-quality, personalised learning in line with the values and teachings of the Catholic Church.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience and expertise coordinating sport within a secondary school 

  • Ability to manage a budget and engage with external stakeholders

  • Extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how the identified subject areas are learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn the subject matter and how the learning and teaching of the subject matter can be enhanced

  • Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning

  • Sound understanding of the sporting needs, learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.

  • Committed to the continual improvement sport and with regards to their teaching practice whilst taking opportunities for professional development.

  • Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.

  • Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning and sporting for life wellbeing
