We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Diverse Learning Teacher with strong interpersonal and organisational skills to join our team. The role of the Diverse Learning Teacher works across K-12 to support the teaching and learning of students who have been identified as having specific learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with class teachers in designing learning activities and supporting individuals or small groups of students.
Create, implement, and monitor personalised learning plans (PPs) for students with diverse needs, in consultation with stakeholders.
Provide a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to individual learning styles.
Utilise a data-driven approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback.
Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet their diverse needs.
Demonstrate sound knowledge in developing a K-12 Curriculum and the application of effective learning pedagogies.
High level of administrative skills to manage student documentation, analyse student data, and contribute to the collation of documents in line with the NCCD including participation in the moderation process.
Stay informed about and ensure compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and relevant education standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.
Bachelor’s degree in Inclusive Education or extensive experience.
Strong understanding of the DDA and how it applies to educational settings.
Knowledge of the NCCD process and its implications for student support and reporting.
Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
