The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to provide support to a variety of students from K-12 under the direction of the Diversity Team Leader and the classroom teacher. 

Teacher aide's are accountable for:

  • Support of the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in working with a range of personnel.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to the changing needs of the school.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Appropriate qualifications in Educational Support.
  • Current practical experience working across K-12. 
  • Willing to work across a K-12 setting.
  • Experience in personal care is an advantage.

Essential Criteria

  • A commitment to the goals of Catholic education and a readiness to foster the aims and vision of the school in the wider community;
  • Applies knowledge in areas and a range of skills in a variety of roles and tasks;
  • Uses discretion and judgement in organising and achieving outcomes in time constraints;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to relate well to students and to work in teams with staff members;
  • Initiative and the ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently, working independently and flexibly to adjust to changing situations;

Days of Work

  • Monday to Friday and/or casual employment 8.30am to 3.00pm

The Organisation

Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney. 

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
