The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is looking for a passionate and skilled Food Technology Assistant to provide support and assistance to our teachers. The position is
Part time temporary until December 2023 - 40 hours per F/N with possibility of a permanent appointment. Hours required 8am - 12pm.
Food Technology Assistants are accountable for:
-Employees are required to support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
-Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines
-Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel
-Strong planning and organisation skills
-Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work
Key responsibilities include:-
Ordering of consumables and supplies required for the TAS department as well as preparing practical requirements and setting up for lessons
Maintaining cleanliness in the TAS kitchen
Preparation of food and equipment for practical TAS classes
Assist with out of hours functions, as required
Managing the administration needs of the department, including auditing of stock and updating data safety sheets as required
Assisting in TAS classes as required
Provide regular checks of all equipment and notify any WHS concerns
Hold a current food handling certificate or be willing to obtain including other certifications as needed
Other tasks as required by the Principal
Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
