Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta (CEDP) has recently reviewed its COVID Vaccination Policy and risk assessment. The requirement for staff to have two doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required from 18 July 2022. The proposed exception to this requirement is those staff who work in a High Support Learning Centre (St Luke’s Arrunga, Kirinari & Wiyanga) including any visitors, volunteers and contractors to these sites.

About the opportunity:

St. Michael's, Blacktown is looking for an experienced, contemporary and passionate Wellbeing Coach to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students. This non-teaching position is offered on a full-time permanent basis, commencing Term 1, 2023. More specifically you will:

Wellbeing Coach

  • Work 1:1 with staff members to design and implement strategies to meet specific behavioural needs of students

  • Work with staff and parents to develop, implement and review Tier 2 and Tier 3 behaviour plans to meet the individual needs of students. 

  • Liaise with the school counsellor, diversity leader and outside agencies regarding student wellbeing.

  • Monitor behaviour of students, particularly those on Tier 2 and 3 plans

  • Assist staff when students are agitated to de-escalate situations and keep others safe.

  • Follow up on major behaviours in all aspects

Positive Behaviour Support for Learning (PBS4L) Coordinator

  • Lead and promote the PBS4L whole school processes 

  • Analyse and present PBS4L data

  • Work with the CEDP PBS4L Coach t

  • Organise and lead PBS4L professional learning opportunities for staff

  • Attend PBS4L Community sessions and PL

Diversity Support

  • Support staff members in creating and updating Personalised Plans, designing adjustments for students based on needs

  • Support teachers with parent Personalised Plan meetings.

  • Support Diversity leader with Personalised Plans, Case Management, TWLP process. 

Grade Coordinator

  • Work with the grade team to plan teaching and learning programs and assessment

  • Support grade team with parent calls and meetings

  • Co-teach in situ with the grade team, giving feedback and setting goals. 

  • Monitor and check programs each term and support grade team with Semester Reports

About you:

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of CEDP along with:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience 

  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with staff and students 

  • Knowledge of contemporary learning programs and ability to support staff in fulfilling these to produce positive learning outcomes 

  • Understanding of the Positive Behaviour Support for Learning (PBS4L) processes and outcomes 

  • A natural aptitude and drive to lead within a school setting

  • A strong ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders 

  • Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and planning skills 

Qualifications and accreditations:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)

  • Statements of Service

  • Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
