About the Westmead Catholic Community

The Westmead Catholic Community is a K-12 education precinct consisting of one primary school (Mother Teresa Primary) and two secondary schools (Catherine McAuley and Parramatta Marist). The ICT Services team provides high end customer support for all ICT Services and function areas to over 3,000 end users. 

Function Specific Accountabilities

We're seeking a skilled Technical Support Officer who will be required to support the ICT Services team to provide specialist technical support to the Westmead Catholic Community on a casual basis. They will be accountable for: 

  • The ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team;

  • The ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines;

  • Interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel;

  • Strong planning and organisation skills;

  • Responding to requests to resolve level two network and systems issues;

  • Quality in fulfilling assigned work;

  • Participating in the deployment and delivery of various information technology projects;

  • Auditing, maintaining and documenting the network, systems, and services;

  • Providing technical direction for software upgrades, licensing, backup recovery, virus protection, printing systems, server maintenance procedures and network security; 

  • Being committed to providing support to those within the team to effectively deliver the team's identified strategy and as such assist with the support, delivery and coordination of the service functions.

  • Other tasks as delegated by the Head, ICT Services.

Typical Experience and Qualifications

  • Postsecondary qualifications in the area of Information Technology;

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position, within the education sector desirable;

  • Relevant professional certifications i.e. ITIL, CCNA. 

The Organisation

Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney. 

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
