To ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our diverse stakeholders, People & Culture at CEDP is undergoing a transformation which has resulted in the creation of an Payroll Team Lead, reporting directly to the HR Operations & Analytics Manager.
About the opportunity:
This role is tasked with ensuring the continued delivery of Payroll services to CEDP employees as well as partnering with the HR Operations & Analytics Manager to ensure the successful transition of payroll processes to the new HR information system. More specifically you will:
Lead a team of 10 and oversee end to end fortnightly payroll processing for 5000 + permanent, temporary and casual employees
Coordinate and provide services covering multiple areas within P&C including payroll process, budget allocations, application of awards and agreements, salary packaging, expenses, superannuation, workers compensation calculations, legislation compliance
Work in partnership with internal teams and external providers to facilitate the delivery of Payroll advice, responding to ad-hoc requests and project work
Manage escalations from team members, reviewing work, providing guidance and advice where necessary
Develop a structured approach and methodology around data checks and audit to ensure accuracy of payroll and proactive risk management and issue resolution
Enable Payroll insights and decision making by preparing, balancing and reconciling of scheduled and ad-hoc reports and requests
Provide interpretation to stakeholders regarding P&C policies, programs and practices and providing written advice where required
Maintain accurate and current records within the HRIS ecosystem, providing the team with support and development in this as we transition to a new system
To be successful you will be a strong relationship builder who is able to deep dive into our complex payroll environment and key processes by liaising with key stakeholders across our organisation and exploring our current system and data. You will be a people leader, able to accommodate the needs of a team of payroll experts with a wide range of aptitude in technology at a significant time of transition and change. You will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:
Proven experience in a similar role - education experience is preferred, but any environment where the complexities of various awards and enterprise agreements apply will be highly valued
Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant industry experience
Payroll experience within a SAP SuccessFactors environment highly desirable, ideally with exposure to Employee Central Payroll
A focus on continuous improvement and the proven ability to simplify processes
